So far I have cooked pasta, some veg dishes, tahini sauce, and fig-coconut balls using seawater. It's also great as a mouthwash after oil pulling. I collect it in bottles at the beach where I swim in the evenings. We also used it to cure figs from our trees: first we soak them in the sea for 10 minutes and hang them to drain before setting them out on a tray to dry in the sun.
Greece is really entering a major drought that could wipe out agriculture in a lot of places. There is no water for livestock in Epirus- or people will be forced to buy water to keep their animals alive. We have no town water at our house this month - it doesn't make it uphill to our tank which is probably a quarter full - I'm afraid to look. I carry about 15 litres/day in bottles from the public tap about 100 meters downhill from us - we use it for cooking. About every 10 days Themis collects our drinking water from a nearby village where the wells are pure.
I hear water is not scarce in Montreal these days. I will be back there next week if no wars break out.

I live by the beach. So I collect the water in bottles, bring it home and then what should I do then?
